In the coming years, within the framework of the state budget, the construction of a reservoir with a total capacity of 115 million cubic meters is planned to irrigate 21,500 hectares of land in the Shamkir and Tovuz districts and provide the population with drinking water, this was reflected in the Cabinet of Ministers' 2024 report, APA reports.
The report states that as part of the "Action Plan for Ensuring the Efficient Use of Water Resources for 2020–2022," the feasibility study and project documentation for the Zayamchay reservoir will be completed in 2025.
