World Bank mission for railways to visit Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Gerald Olivier, the World Bank leading economist, has led a mission to Azerbaijan to have discussion on Rail Trade and Transport Facilitation Project supported by the World Bank.
The WB Office in Baku told APA-Economics that the mission will have discussion on selection of an optimal management model for the Azerbaijan State Railway Company (ADDY).
“Due to the financial crisis and the government’s desire, the project may be signed this year,” said the office.
The delegation will leave Baku on January 30.
The Rail Trade and Transport Facilitation project is aimed to improve the competitiveness, commercial orientation and efficiency of ADDY to capture increasing oil transit and trade flows and increase its profitability.
