Azerfon to date deployed about 100 base stations

Baku. Aynur Veliyeva – APA-Economics. Azerfon (Nar Mobile) has announced installation and launch of up to 100 new base stations by the beginning of 2009.
On January 21, 2008 Nar Mobile announced installation of 93 new base stations in the capital and regions in order to increase quality of the network.
Thanks to launch of new base stations the quality of the network coverage has improved in Baku (52), Absheron peninsula (2), Aghsu (1), Astara (2), Balakan (2), Barda (1), Bilasuvar (2), Davachi (1), Gakh (3), Ganja (4), Gobustan (3), Guba (3), Hajigabul (1), Khachmaz (1), Lankaran (3), Neftchala (2), Salyan (1), Shaki (2), Shamakhi (1), Jalilabad (1), Sumgaıt (1) and Zagatala.
At present Nar Mobile network covers 90% of the territory of Azerbaijan Republic. 80% of the territory of the republic is covered by the network. Operator shall demonstrate high development tempo in provided service field in future too.
AZERFON (Nar Mobile trade mark) was licensed № 001512 by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Republic in December, 2005 to provide mobile services throughout the territory of Azerbaijan. AZERFON Company launched its commercial activities in 21st of March, 2007 under brand name Nar Mobile. The trademark Nar was created as a symbol of the relationship between Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage and modern life.
