Two people were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Azerbaijan’s Lankaran district, APA reports.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said its 112 hotline received information about a traffic accident on the 154th kilometer of the Lankaran-Astara highway and people trapped inside a vehicle.
Rescuers from the ministry’s Southern Regional Center were immediately dispatched to the scene.
It was established that a Mercedes Vito had collided with a truck, leaving two people trapped inside the severely damaged vehicle.
Using special rescue equipment, rescuers recovered the bodies of Gulnaz Yusub Aghayeva, born in 1961, and Zaman Tarlan Nasirov, born in 1997, and handed them over to the relevant authorities.
The relevant authorities are investigating the accident.

The identity of one of the victims of the road accident in Lankaran has been established.
According to APA’s southern bureau, one of those killed was Gulnaz Yusub Aghayeva, a resident of Shikhakaran village in Lankaran district, born in 1962. The identity of the other male victim had not yet been established at that stage.
The driver of the Mercedes Vito, Amid Ahmad Mammadov, born in 1984 and also a resident of Shikhakaran village, escaped the accident without injury.
The Dong Feng truck was driven by Aydin Riazi, a resident of Astara, Iran.

At around 9:20 p.m. on September 16, a Mercedes Vito minibus collided with a Dong Feng truck on the section of the Alat-Astara highway passing through Lankaran district.
The regional group of the Interior Ministry’s Press Service told APA’s southern bureau that two passengers in the minibus were killed and one person was injured.
Police are investigating the accident.
The ministry urged drivers to strictly observe speed limits, taking into account road and weather conditions and vehicle characteristics, maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, and overtake only when it is completely safe to do so.

A Mercedes Vito collided with a heavy truck in Lankaran.

The Mercedes Vito, which was traveling toward Astara, crashed into the rear of a truck heading to Iran.
Gulnara Suleyman Huseynova, born in 1978, was seriously injured in the accident and admitted to the intensive care unit.
Rescuers from the Southern Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene.
The bodies trapped inside the vehicle were recovered and handed over to the relevant authorities.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
