Medicines being smuggled into the country were discovered as a result of joint measures carried out by employees of the Main Operational-Investigative Department of the State Customs Committee, the Baku Main Customs Department and the Tovuz Customs Department, APA reports.
The State Customs Committee said the truck was stopped at the “Red Bridge” customs post and a customs inspection was carried out on the vehicle arriving in Azerbaijan from Georgia.
During the customs inspection, a total of 82 types of medicines that had not been declared to the customs authorities were found hidden among medicines officially imported into the country.
The value of the detected medicines was determined at 507,000 manats.
An investigation into the case is underway.
