The next meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group for development of a Convention on the Caspian Sea’s legal status is planned to be held in February 2018, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said on Saturday, APA reports.
The date of the summit of the Caspian states should be proposed by Kazakhstan and then agreed with other littoral countries, noted Khalafov.
“Everything depends on President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, since the summit is hosted by this country,” he said.
The Azerbaijani deputy FM stressed the need to complete the technical work on the text of the agreed draft convention in English and other texts. “Perhaps the working group will hold a meeting on this issue in February,” he added.
