The White House is developing a new regional strategy aimed at deterring Tehran after the war with Iran ends, Axios reported, citing sources.
According to the sources, the plan envisages greater involvement of regional allies in deterring Iran and expanding the normalization process between Israel and regional countries.
The strategy is still at an early stage. The US administration is seeking to define the main directions of its post-war Middle East policy during the final two years of Donald Trump’s presidency.
Axios also reported that Trump plans to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York next week to discuss the situation in the region.
