The administration of US President Donald Trump has approved visas for Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to attend the UN General Assembly High-Level Week in New York, APA reports citing Associated Press (AP).
US State Department reported that visas had been issued to Iran's "core delegation," as well as to the necessary personnel.
"In accordance with our obligations as the host country, the Iranian core delegation will be able to participate in the UN General Assembly High-Level Week," the department stated.
The Iranian delegation will be subject to travel restrictions, and its members will be prohibited from purchasing luxury goods and certain other items. The State Department also noted that the 2026 delegation will be smaller than the 2025 one.
