APA reports that the Roll Call newspaper, which is famous among the Congress members, published the article by Azerbaijani Ambassador Elin Suleymanov on the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Security Council resolution #822 regarding the occupation of Kalbajar on May 3, 2013.
The article says: “Yet, also for more than two decades, one issue remains unchanged and continues to cast a dark shadow over the future and the promise of the Caucasus. Despite international efforts, no real progress has been made toward resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, a major continued threat to the peace and security of Eurasia.
Although the resolutions remain unimplemented, an unprecedented level of attention by the international community, including the U.S. administration, focused on the region and established a strong body of international law concerning Armenia’s occupation of Azerbaijani lands.”
