"We expressed our deep concern over the ongoing armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine," Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, APA reports.
The minister said the conflict continues to have a serious negative impact on stability across the wider region.
"Azerbaijan consistently reaffirms its commitment to the norms and principles of international law and calls for de-escalation and a peaceful resolution of the conflict," Bayramov said.
Bayramov noted that the parties also discussed the situation in the Middle East in the context of regional and international issues.
"Amid the ongoing instability, diplomatic engagement, dialogue, and strict adherence to the norms and principles of international law remain the key instruments that can prevent further escalation, avert a worsening humanitarian situation, and create the minimum conditions necessary for regional and even broader cooperation," he added.
