Azerbaijan and Russia faced certain difficulties in their bilateral relations in the recent past, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, APA reports.
The minister said the issue was also raised during today's talks.
"I would like to note with satisfaction that our states have managed to overcome that difficult period and fully normalize the entire spectrum of Russia-Azerbaijan relations.
I would particularly like to emphasize that this normalization became possible thanks to the personal position of the leaders of our countries. The full restoration of relations was achieved precisely through these efforts," Bayramov said.
Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan and Russia are neighboring states united by centuries-old historical, cultural, and humanitarian ties.
"Our relations are strong, and there are close and deep ties between our peoples. These ties, in turn, form the foundation of interstate relations," he added.
