President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following the overnight attack on Odessa and other Ukrainian cities and regions, called on partners to accelerate the delivery of defence assistance packages, Mezha.net reports.
“It is important that every state institution, and everyone involved in negotiations with partners on supporting Ukraine’s defence and resilience, acts as quickly and effectively as possible. We need to accelerate the implementation of everything agreed at the leaders’ level. Every defence package now is not just a number, but specific equipment that protects lives here in Ukraine every day,” Zelenskyy said.
The president recalled that two people were killed in Odessa as a result of Russia’s overnight missile strike on a residential building, while five others were injured, including three children. He noted that all those injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance and expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
The head of state also highlighted that Russian forces used 15 guided aerial bombs against the Sumy region.
“In Sumy, one person was injured, and residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, including a library, were damaged,” he said.
“Other regions of our country were also under attack. In Zaporizhzhia region, two people were killed and five others injured as a result of an air strike. In Kharkiv region, three people were injured in shelling. One person was injured in Chernihiv region. Kherson, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions also came under attack. Overall, during the night, Russian forces launched more than 130 attack drones and eight missiles against Ukraine,” Zelenskyy concluded.
