Rosselkhoznadzor has asked Iran to suspend the certification of flowers for export to Russia, the Russian agency reported, News.am reports.

“Rosselkhoznadzor appealed to Iran’s Plant Protection Organization with a request to suspend the certification of flowers for export to Russia,” the statement said.

The agency noted that in 2026 the volume of supplies from the Islamic Republic significantly exceeded the figures for the same period last year.

In the documents, Iran was listed as the country of origin. At the same time, based on the external characteristics of the products and the specifics of the packaging, they are identical to those previously supplied from Armenia. Meanwhile, flower supplies from Armenia to Russia have been banned since May 22.

“Rosselkhoznadzor had previously informed Iran about the current temporary restrictions concerning Armenian flower products,” the agency noted.

Due to the lack of a response from the Iranian side, in order to preserve the phytosanitary well-being of the territories of Russia and the EAEU member states and to ensure compliance with the bans and restrictions introduced by Rosselkhoznadzor, the service requested that flower certification be suspended until bilateral talks are held and the issue is clarified.
