Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. Russia’s suspension of the operation of Gabala Radar Station and invalidation of the agreement on transportation through Baku–Novorossiysk pipeline has not affected, nor deteriorated Azerbaijan-Russia relations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told journalists, APA reports.

“I don’t agree to such assessment. The situation over Gabala radar station is known - we failed to agree on price. Other claims are speculations, we are not engaged in speculation.

Lavrov said unilateral invalidation of the agreement on Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline is connected with economic reasons.

“Currently, energy structures of the two countries are developing a new interstate agreement, this agreement will cover new economic realities,” he said.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also urged not to politicize these issues.

“If grounded in terms of commerce, we can sign a new agreement. We solve our relations basing on the principles of friendship and peaceful neighborhood,” he said.
