Khalaf Khalafov: â€œThere is no discrepancy in the discussions on the demarcation of the borders with Russiaâ€

According to the Deputy Minister, agreement was reached at the Moscow meeting to hold the next meeting in Azerbaijan.

“The working groups will continue working for holding the meeting. They will hold meetings both in Moscow and Baku, such meetings will be organized along the border, if necessary. The time of the meeting depends on us, its date will be fixed through the diplomatic channels,” he said.

Khalaf Khalafov noted that demarcation is a very complicated process, but expressed his confidence that the process will be solved soon.

“This is a very important issue. Cartographic, topographic activities and installation of border signs should be carried out,” he said.

Asked whether there is discrepancy in these issues, Khalaf Khalafov said there is no discrepancy in the issues under discussion.

Speaking about the delimitation on the border with Georgia, Deputy Minister said the work is being continued, much time is needed to switch to the process of demarcation.

“Two thirds of the border with Georgia has been agreed, a lot of issues remain open. Of course, it will take time to solve them, but both sides are persistent in the continuation of this work. The meetings of the working commissions, experts are always on the agenda,” he said.
