Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. “We were almost shocked when Azerbaijan’s votes were announced at the Eurovision-2013 song contest,” said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov while commenting on the fact related to the disappearance of Azerbaijani citizens’ votes for Russia’s representative, APA reports.
According to him, in this regard, the Public Television, the partner of the European Broadcasting Union, started investigations a day after the contest.
“In accordance with the legal procedure, the Public Television appealed to the court in order to get the results of SMS voting. The court sustained the appeal. The Public Chamber conducted a poll which showed that Russia had been given a lot of votes. Following the court decision, the results of voting were submitted to the Public Television.
According to this data, Azercell subscribers submitted 7893 votes to Ukrainian representative and it was followed by Russian representative with 1677 votes. Bakcell subscribers submitted 408 votes to Ukraine, 380 to Russia. Nar Mobile subscribers submitted 193 votes to Ukraine’s representative, 112 votes to Russia’s representative. Why have these votes disappeared? Our Public Television will clarify it. But this is a fact. It is necessary to investigate and clarify where the votes submitted by Azerbaijani citizens to Russia’s entry disappeared,” he said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia and Azerbaijan are coordinating the joint activity so that this irritating action does not remain unanswered. “In terms of the organization of this event, we are not satisfied that 10 points of our participant were stolen. We have agreed with Elmar Mammadyarov that after Azerbaijan’s Public Television clarifies legal ways of getting explanation, we will coordinate our joint activity so that this irritating action does not remain unanswered,” he said.
