He expressed his hope that the necessary procedures will be completed in the near future and scientific worker of Literature Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Khalida Khalid and her driver Shamkhal Huseynov will return home soon.

Azerbaijani Vice Consul in Tabriz, Nariman Orujaliyev told APA that measures are being taken regarding the handover of Khalida Khalid and Shamkhal Huseynov to Azerbaijan: “Diplomatic missions, as well as Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Tabriz are making clarifications. Information will be given in the near future.”

On April 30, researcher and writer Khalida Khalid and her driver Shamkhal Huseynov were arrested at the father’s house of Azerbaijani activist Mahammad (Okhtay) Rashidi by the employees of the Ministry of Intelligence and National Security (MISIRI). Following the visit of chairman of Caucasian Muslim Board Allahshukur Pashazadeh to Tehran, they were released on May 19. Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeeen confirmed the report to APA.
