Ogtay Asadov said this at today’s meeting of the parliament. According to him, there is Iranian-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group and its members must appeal to their colleagues in Iran: “In my turn, I will also address the Iranian parliament speaker.”
MP Fazil Mustafa offered to protest against Iran over the arrest of Khalida Khalid. He said Khalida Khalid was arrested under groundless charges.
“This is unbecoming to Islamic principles. We should appeal to international organizations. For several times Iran arrested Azerbaijani citizens and later turned it into the subject of bargaining. This issue should be approached delicately. Necessary steps should be taken to protect the rights of the Azerbaijani woman,” he said.
