Azerbaijani and Iranian foreign ministers hold telephone conversation

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. Today foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Iran, Elmar Mammadyarov and Ali Akbar Salehi have had a telephone conversation, said spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev, APA reports.

According to him, the telephone conversation took place on the initiative of Iran. They discussed various aspects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, regional issues, including the outcomes of the visit of chairman of Caucasian Muslims Board Allahshukur Pashazadeh and the Azerbaijani citizens arrested in Tabriz on April 30.

The Iranian Foreign Minister said that he wishes to visit Azerbaijan in the near future. He stated that an international conference on Syria will be held in Tehran, May 29 on the initiative of Iran and invited the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister to this conference.
