Touching on the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan, the Commissioner called for free and fair election and election process. He recalled that international observers had recorded a number of shortcomings in composition of election commissions, registration of candidates and consideration of complaints after previous elections in Azerbaijan: “I hope that Azerbaijani Government will take into account these shortcomings. It will serve the interests of the Azerbaijani state and people."
