"As President Ilham Aliyev has said, France is currently taking Armenia's side and continues to do so. Organizations formed after World War II should play an active role in resolving conflicts and problems between countries," said Bülent Arınç, the former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, during the "Path to Peace" panel at the XII Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
The speaker noted that the UN Security Council exists, but it is difficult to make decisions regarding conflicts there.
He further stated that Azerbaijan, understanding this, exercised its right to liberate its lands from occupation:
"Because in conflicts, interested states unjustifiably use the veto right. I would like to recall Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's approach that 'The world is bigger than five.' This means that the leading powers of the world remain silent in the face of conflicts. The UN has resolutions on the Israel-Palestine conflict, but none of them have been implemented. The same was the case with the resolution adopted regarding Armenia's occupation of Garabagh. Let's remember the occupation of Garabagh, the Khojaly massacre. At that time, the world countries considered their job done by simply creating the Minsk Group. Azerbaijan rightly said that it has exercised its right to liberate its lands. Now, Armenia must agree to peace."
