“An agreement was reached on a five-year action plan at COP30,” COP30 Executive Director Ana Toni said during a panel session held as part of the Fourth Climate Week (CW4) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.
She said one of the directions of the plan covers the energy, industry and transport sectors and is directly linked to the electrification target: “Within this direction, we have 15 acceleration plans that directly contribute to the electrification target.”
Ana Toni noted that, overall, 50 percent of Brazil’s energy sector already consists of renewable energy.
