“There is a need for accessible and long-term climate financing, strong partnerships between countries, information exchange and the common determination of all parties,” Hüseyn Namık Sandıkçı, Head of the Energy Efficiency Department at Türkiye’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, said at a roundtable held as part of Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026), APA reports.

He said that buildings are a significant source of energy consumption and emissions in the context of global climate change: “They are also a key part of the solution. In Türkiye, we have been working intensively for many years on the transformation of the building sector and improving legislation in this area. As a ministry, we are carrying out a comprehensive transformation in the building sector. Among our ongoing efforts, the key issues are integrating life-cycle analysis into our policy and restructuring our existing building stock in terms of energy efficiency. We are aware of the importance of mobilizing the full potential of international cooperation in order to achieve transformation and energy transition in the sector.”
