The growth in demand in the energy system has already become a very serious issue, Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy, said during the opening ceremony of a modern renewable energy laboratory at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), APA-Economics reports.
“The growth in demand in the energy system is a very serious issue. Standard extrapolation methods no longer work for understanding this. This is because artificial intelligence and other factors affect energy demand,” Javid Abdullayev noted.
According to him, Azerbaijan has sufficient generation capacity to meet growing energy demand: “Currently, Azerbaijan has sufficient energy generation capacity, and there is no need to take any extraordinary steps in the near future to meet the growing demand.”
