This question is asked once every 3 months. I expect one thing, that you will ask this question again in 3 months, - this is how Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze answered the question about his possible resignation from office, Ipn.ge reports.

In addition, Kobakhidze also spoke about the ongoing process in the fight against corruption and noted that it took him, together with his team, a year and 5 months to "cleanse the system of the problems that had accumulated".

“I don’t want to go into this in depth, I will only say one thing, after I took the position of Prime Minister, you know that there was a very clear indication from Bidzina Ivanishvili regarding corruption. It took me a year and 5 months, together with the team and once again under the leadership of Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, to eliminate the problems that were related to the management system. It took me personally, as well as the entire team, a year and 5 months to eliminate the accumulated problems. I will not make any further comments on this. Everyone should take care of their own problems, we saw specific problems. It took me a year and 5 months to eliminate the principle problems in the management system, the team did this, there were Bidzina Ivanishvili’s instructions in this regard. Of course, we accepted this as the main line and we carried this line to the end. In a year and 5 months, we managed to completely cleanse the system of the problems that had accumulated,” Kobakhidze said.

When asked why, when Irakli Gharibashvili was the Prime Minister, and Kobakhidze himself was in the controlling body - the Parliament, he did not control the government in terms of corruption and crimes, the Prime Minister noted that he had other resources then.

“Of course, you have other resources in the Parliament, and when you directly manage the system, you have other resources. Even in the conditions when I held the position of the head of the government, it took me a year and 5 months and it took our team a year and 5 months to completely free the system from fundamental problems, as instructed by Bidzina Ivanishvili,” Kobakhidze said.

When asked why he did not fight corruption without Bidzina Ivanishvili’s instructions, if he saw it, Kobakhidze replied:

“I am simply emphasizing who was the author of the main hint. Bidzina Ivanishvili spoke at the party congress, he made one of the main hints related to corruption, I took the post of Prime Minister in one month, and under the leadership of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the team managed to fundamentally free the system from the problems that had accumulated. However, not only from the parliament, but even from the position of the head of the government, it took me a year and 5 months to free the system from the fundamental problems,” Kobakhidze said.

When asked whether government changes are expected and whether he intends to resign like Mdinaradze, the Prime Minister noted: “This question is asked once every 3 months. I expect one thing, that you will ask this question again in 3 months,” Kobakhidze said.
