Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov meets with Lord William Wallace

Baku. Tamara Grigoryeva – APA. Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom Fakhraddin Gurbanov met with member of the House of Lords Lord William Wallace. The embassy told APA that they had exchanged views on the present state of bilateral relations between the countries and the issues of mutual concern. Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov briefed Lord Wallace about the country’s achievements, particularly economic and energy projects and underlined that our country had become leading state of the region. Citing to the recent report of the World Bank “Doing Business – 2009” Ambassador noted that Azerbaijan became leading country in terms of improving business environment. Giving information about Nagorno Karabakh, causes and essence of the conflict Ambassador spoke about ongoing peace talks. Fakhraddin Gurbanov underlined the importance of peaceful settlement of the conflict for establishing sustainable peace and stability in the region. They also exchanged views on the present state of interparliamentary relations and development prospects. Ambassador Gurbanov spoke about the work of Azerbaijan-Great Britain interparliamentary group and offered Lord Wallace to join the group. Lord Wallace accepted the offer with pleasure. Fakhraddin Gurbanov and Lord Wallace exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
