"Trump has given us a separate promise on the F-35 issue," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Ankara, APA reports.
Erdoğan said that the F-35 issue is not a new topic: "We have discussed this issue with the United States before. We were promised the delivery of five aircraft. Mr. Trump has also given us a separate promise regarding this issue. Now, I believe that during the meetings we will hold within the framework of the Leaders' Summit, the previously made promise regarding the F-35s will be positively reaffirmed for the future. Mr. Trump has always stood by his word. I believe that a positive decision on the F-35 will be adopted at the Leaders' Summit."
