A procedure for conducting digital investigations will be established, APA reports.
This is reflected in the new chapter proposed to be added to the Law on Information, Informatization and Protection of Information, which was discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis.
Under the draft, based on information obtained on cyber incidents that occur at information infrastructure facilities, their risk-based assessment is being conducted by the Digital Investigation Center. Based on the results of the assessment, the Digital Investigation Center determines which cyber incidents should undergo a digital investigation.
Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) operating in the relevant field may be involved by the Digital Investigation Center in carrying out digital investigations of cyber incidents.
During digital investigations, the integrity of information obtained by CERTs or the Digital Investigation Center must be preserved, and any alteration, deletion, or falsification of such information must be prevented. International cybersecurity standards-compliant methods and tools must be used during digital investigations.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
