Jeyhun Bayramov meets with member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee

Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with U.S. Senator Steve Daines, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who is visiting the country, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told APA.

It was noted that the meeting included an exchange of views on the current state and prospects of the Azerbaijan-U.S. strategic partnership, the political and economic cooperation agenda, energy security, regional connectivity projects, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The parties emphasized the importance of developing high-level contacts and political dialogue between the two countries for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

The sides discussed Azerbaijan's growing role as a reliable partner in the fields of energy security, transport, and logistics, and exchanged views on initiatives aimed at developing the Middle Corridor and the East-West transport routes.

During discussions on regional connectivity and economic cooperation, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the dynamic development of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the Central Asian countries and highlighted the new opportunities offered by the C6 cooperation format. He emphasized that Azerbaijan has become one of Eurasia's key transport and trade hubs thanks to the strengthening of East-West connectivity across the Caspian Sea, the development of the Middle Corridor, and the logistics and industrial infrastructure established at and around the Alat International Sea Trade Port.

The parties reviewed the current situation in the South Caucasus in the post-conflict period, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, and the peace agenda.

During the meeting, the other side was also provided with detailed information about the large-scale restoration and reconstruction efforts being carried out in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, as well as the opportunities created by the reopening of transport and communication routes in the region for regional cooperation and economic integration.

The sides also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
