NATO is on the verge of a transatlantic military-industrial revolution, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said during his speech at the NATO Summit in Ankara, APA reports.
The Secretary General stated that NATO's military-industrial capacity must be further strengthened in light of the threats posed by Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea.
"We cannot afford to waste time. Russia spends nearly half of its state budget on its war machine. Its military industry operates 24 hours a day. China continues to modernize its armed forces and is expanding its nuclear capabilities without any transparency. North Korea is developing its nuclear program and supplying military equipment to Russia. Although the recent war has significantly weakened Iran, we must remain vigilant," Mark Rutte emphasized.
The Secretary General noted that the above-mentioned countries are coordinating their activities. He stressed the importance of further strengthening cooperation among NATO allies in response to these threats.
