Elmar Mammadyarov holds high-level meetings in New York

New York â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov continues his meetings in New York. Spokesman for Foreign Ministry Khazar Ibrahim told APA that the minister had met with Sloveniaâ€™s President Danilo Turk, Foreign Minister of Jordan Salaheddin Al-Bashir, Foreign Minister of Morocco Taib Fassi Fihri, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana, Bulgariaâ€™s Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin, representatives of Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and attended the meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Foreign Ministers.

Regional issues, as well as Turkey-initiated Caucasus Security and Development Platform, energy, international security and bilateral issues were discussed in bilateral meetings.

Sloveniaâ€™s President Danilo Turk highly appreciated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s visit to Slovenia and underlined that the visit increased the bilateral relations to a new level.

The minister spoke about Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and said the conflict could be solved only within the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity. His counterparts supported Azerbaijanâ€™s right position.

Foreign Minister of Morocco Taib Fassi Fihri said his country would soon open embassy in Azerbaijan and it would contribute to the improvement of bilateral relations.

European officials noted the importance of the South Caucasus for the European Union and said they were interested in extending relations with Azerbaijan. Representatives of Jewish organization appreciated tolerance in Azerbaijan. Foreign Minister continues his meetings.
