Information security and cybersecurity are being included among the main directions of state policy in the field of informatization, APA reports.
This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information," which was discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the draft, the procedures for monitoring and auditing state information resources and systems based on security criteria (excluding information resources and systems belonging to intelligence and counterintelligence entities, as well as critical information infrastructure, the information infrastructure of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and entities supervised in the financial markets (legal entities owned by the state or in which the controlling stake (shares) is state-owned)), as well as issuing opinions on information security, will be determined by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
