Turkeyâ€™s NTV apologizes to Azerbaijani people, Kapaz FC players - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

Baku – APA. The Turkish news channel NTV has apologized to the Azerbaijani people and the players of the Azerbaijani football club Kapaz for presenting the football club as an Armenian team.

“Kapaz FC was mistakenly presented as an Armenian team in the news released with reference to Anadolu Agency,” NTV said in a statement on Friday.

“The mistake was immediately corrected. We apologize to the Azerbaijani people and Kapaz FC players, and with the club success in the upcoming UEFA Europa League matches,” said the statement.

The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet and Lig TV channel also made corrections in their story on Kapaz FC.

Baku – APA. Several sports portals of Turkish media have made a blatant mistake by presenting the Azerbaijani football club Kapaz as an Armenian team when publishing the results of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.

Hurriyet and Lig TV are among these portals.

Kapaz FC (Ganja), one of Azerbaijan’s historical football clubs, had defeated Moldova’s Dacia club away by one goal to nil in the first qualifying round.
