Baku-APA. Turkish clubs BeÅŸiktaÅŸ and Trabzon both secured qualification to the group stages of this year's UEFA Europa League after defeating their rivals in the second leg of play-offs on Thursday night, APA reports quoting Todays Zaman.

BeÅŸiktaÅŸ displayed a convincing play against Norwegian team Tromso on home turf in Ä°stanbul in front of tens of thousands of fans in Ä°stanbul Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadium.

BeÅŸiktaÅŸ won 3-2 on aggravate with 2-0 win on the second leg thanks to goals from Hugo Almeida and OÄŸuzhan Özyakup in the second half of the game.

BeÅŸiktaÅŸ lost first match 2-1 and left its fans in quirky position over prospect for a qualification.

BeÅŸiktaÅŸ has been involved in a much different battle to qualify for the competition, appealing a UEFA ban on the Black Eagles for their alleged involvement in match fixing in 2011. The final verdict of the clubs appeal has yet to be announced. If the Court of Arbitration rules against the Turkish club in the days to come, then it will have no hope of heading out to Europa proper.

Trabzonspor, the legendary team of the Black Sea region, had relatively an easy challenge from Albania's Kukës.

With a clear 3-1 result on home pitch, Trabzonspor won 5-1 on aggregate and qualified for the group stages.
