Baku – APA. Galatasaray have released a statement on the stock exchange confirming Roberto Mancini has resigned from his position, APA reports quoting turkish-football website.
The Lions announced that they reached a mutual agreement to terminate Mancini's contract. The statement read: "The agreement signed between Galatasaray and Roberto Mancini on 01.10.2013 has come to an end.
"According to our latest agreement Mancini will receive his full wages for the 2013/14 season and will not request additional payment.
"We have parted ways on good terms and want to thank Mancini and wish him all the best for the future."
The news of his resignation came as a shock as Mancini had recently confirmed that he intended to stay at Galatasaray.
Mancini signed a three-year deal with Galatasaray worth up to a maximum of €9.6 million per-season mid-way through the first half of the 2013-14 season.
The Italian manager went onto win the Turkish Cup and guide Galatasaray to the Champions League Last 16.
