Coach of Turkeyâ€™s second-tier 1461 Trabzon dies

Baku-APA. Turkish PTT League 1 side 1461 Trabzon’s coach Kadri Özcan passed away on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while resting at his home, APA reports quoting Turkish media.

Özcan’s heart attack came after he returned home on Tuesday following a training session with his team in the club’s facilities. His relatives brought him to Akçaabat HaçkalÄ± Baba State Hospital but doctors failed to save him.

Trabzonspor Chairman Ä°brahim HacÄ±osmanoÄŸlu and 1461 Trabzon players came to the hospital.

1461 Trabzon came under spotlight last season after stunning victories over Turkey’s football giants Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. 1461 Trabzon defeated Fenerbahçe 3-2 in their Group A encounter at Ä°stanbul's Åžükrü SaracoÄŸlu Stadium in their Ziraat Cup championship.

Fenerbahçe shared a similar fate as archrival Galatasaray, which was eliminated by the Trabzon side in an earlier round.
