Real Madrid thrashed Monaco in the Champions League, with Mbappe scoring twice

Spain's Real Madrid crushed Monaco 6-1 in the seventh round of the Champions League. The match took place in Madrid, APA reports.

The winners' goals were scored by Kylian Mbappé (5th, 26th minute), Franco Mastantuono (51), Vinicius (63), and Jude Bellingham (80). In the 55th minute, Monaco defender Thilo Kehrer scored an own goal. Jordan Thesé (72) scored for the losers.

Monaco's Russian midfielder Aleksandr Golovin started the match and was substituted in the 84th minute. Mbappé scored his 11th goal in the Champions League main stage, equaling Cristiano Ronaldo's record for that goal. The striker is a product of Monaco's youth system and played for the team from 2015 to 2018, winning the French championship with the club.

Real Madrid has 15 points and is second in the standings. Monaco is 20th with 9 points. In the final round, Real Madrid will play away against Portuguese Benfica, while Monaco will host Italian Juventus. The matches will take place on January 28.
