The winners' goals were scored by Federico Valverde (2nd minute) and Rodrigo (55). For the losers, the only goal was scored by Alexander Sørloth (59).
In the final, Real Madrid will face Barcelona, which previously defeated Athletic Bilbao 5-0. The match will take place on January 11.
Since the 2019/20 season, the Spanish Super Cup has been held as a mini-tournament. Typically, it involves the national champion and runner-up, as well as the winner and runner-up of the national cup. However, last season, Barcelona won both tournaments, and Real Madrid finished second in both competitions. Therefore, the teams competing in the current Spanish Super Cup are the third- and fourth-place finishers in the last national championship.
