Krasnodar became the champion of Russia for the first time in history, APA reports.
The club, which belongs to businessman and founder of the Magnit chain of stores Sergey Galitsky, beat Moscow Dynamo 3-0 in the final game of the Russian Football Premier League (RPL).
The intrigue of who would become the RPL champion lasted until the last round - St. Petersburg Zenit lost to Krasnodar by only one point.
The final round promised a confrontation between Zenit and Krasnodar. For the club from St. Petersburg, this could be the seventh championship in a row. It was especially important because of the anniversary - the club turned 100 this year. Because of this, the team from St. Petersburg came out in retro uniform for the final match with Grozny's Akhmat.
In the final round, businessman Sergei Galitsky's club had to play against Moscow's Dynamo, which was fighting for the bronze medals.
On the day of the final game, the club's flag was hung on the main square of Krasnodar . The owner of the club, Sergey Galitsky, himself came to the stands for the decisive match.
