According to the State Border Service, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens who travelled to foreign countries in January-August 2026 decreased by 2.4% compared with the same period in 2025, amounting to 1.3845 million people, the State Statistical Committee told APA.
43.9% of Azerbaijani citizens travelled to Türkiye, up 2.2% compared with the same period last year, 14.8% to the Russian Federation, down 2.2%, 12.8% to Georgia, up 13.6%, 5.3% to Iran, down 41.2%, and 23.2% to other countries, down 3.9%.
Men accounted for 64.0% of those travelling abroad, while women accounted for 36.0%.
In January-August 2026, 70.7% of Azerbaijani citizens travelling abroad used air transport, 27.4% travelled by rail and road, and 1.9% by sea.
