A press conference was held by Galatasaray’s president, Dursun Özbek, Apasport.az reports.
He responded to the statements of the Turkish Football Federation president, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu: “It is no longer possible to remain silent. The TFF president, before our important match, stood in front of the cameras and lost his impartiality. As if there were no other problems in Turkish football, he criticizes us in front of the cameras. Isn’t our match in the Champions League a matter of national pride? Then he wishes Galatasaray success. With these statements, he actually wished success to Monaco.”
Özbek stated that they met with Hacıosmanoğlu regarding the Fenerbahçe – Galatasaray derby: “We showed him the video. Regarding the video, the president said that "Fenerbahçe's rights were violated in that game." We do not discriminate between teams when we demand justice from you. Whether it is Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, or Fenerbahçe – if there is injustice, there must be a punishment. But you say ‘we would have punished,’ ‘you came, and we refrained from giving the punishment.’ Can this be considered a sense of justice?”
The club president emphasized that the TFF harbors special hatred towards the team: “The point we have reached today is extremely clear. The current football federation’s attitude towards Galatasaray has become undeniable. All our fans should know that the TFF is run with hatred against Galatasaray.”
It should be noted that TFF president İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, before the Monaco – Galatasaray (1:0) match, gave a press conference regarding the controversial incidents in the Fenerbahçe – Galatasaray derby (1:1) and the Galatasaray – Samsunspor (3:2) match.
