UEFA Super Cup winner to come to Azerbaijan

Baku. Mehman Suleymanov - APA-Sport. Baki club, winner of Azerbaijani Cup in 2005, will cooperate with Belgium’s Anderlecht club. APA-Sport reports that initial agreement has been reached. Vice-president of Baki Tunj Afshar and general manager of Anderlecht held a meeting in connection with this in the main office of Anderlecht in Brussels. This is the first step taken within the framework of cooperation with European clubs joining Baki president Hafiz Mammadov’s project “Great Baku Football Club”. According to the agreement, Bekir Tedik and Rik Velde of Anderlecht will come to Baku in November and participate in the trainings of the club’s team of teenagers.

Beginning from December underage players of Baki will join the trainings of Anderlecht. So, they will have chance to familiarize themselves with European football. Besides, Andrelecht’s underage team will participate in the festival to be organized among underage players of Baki next year. Friendly match will be held between the clubs next year.

Anderlecht, which was defeated by Neftchi (0:1) in the Champions League three years ago, was the champion of Belgium for 29 times. The club won European Super Cup twice, UEFA Cup once and European Cup Winners’ Cup twice.
