Yashar Vahabzada: I am ready to resign

â€œEveryone wants the junior national teams to be coached by the foreign specialists. I do not consider it is the solution to the problemâ€, Azerbaijan national U-17 team head coach Yashar Vahabzada told APA-Sport.
According to him the development of the local football requires implementing different methods. â€œ I think sport schools should improve the level of their trainings. U-17 team is formed on the basis of club footballers and sport schools. Those footballers do not know elementary football knowledgeâ€.
Vahabzada emphasized that the national team will not benefit from foreign coaches. He showed Georgia case as an example of it.
â€œBoth Georgia national team and U-17 are being coached by the coach from Germany. During this time Georgia failed even to advance to second stage in the European championshipâ€.
Yashar Vahabzada said he is ready to step down for foreign coach. â€œ I wish good luck to the man who will replace me. I would resign happilyâ€.
The head coach said it is not exact whether he will sign a new contra ct with AFFA. â€œAFFA will discuss this issue soon. The decision on my activity in the team will be made following the negotiationsâ€.
Yashar Vahabzada is the head coach for U-17 since December, 2005. U-17 advanced to the second stage in the European championship under his ruling. His contract with AFAF will expire on October 31.
