Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov addressed the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a post on X, APA reports.
The post reads:
“Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov addressed the Council of Ministers meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization on the sidelines of UNGA81.
In his statement, the Minister outlined the implementation of the strategic Khankendi Communiqué and Action Plan adopted at the 17th ECO Summit in Khankendi, highlighting the operational launch of the ECO Clean Energy Centre in Baku and Shusha’s active role as the ECO Tourism Capital for 2026.
The Minister emphasized Azerbaijan’s important role along the Middle Corridor—including the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, Alat Port, as well as green digital integration via the Digital Silk Way.
He also pointed to the strategic synergy between the South Caucasus and Central Asia, referring to Azerbaijan’s membership and active participation in the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Cholpon-Ata and the upcoming summit in Avaza.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed on the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process following the August 2025 Washington Peace Summit, emphasizing confidence-building steps, the lifting of transit restrictions, and large-scale reconstruction in liberated Karabakh and East Zangezur.”
