Russia was ready to resume negotiations with Ukraine after the elections, but Kyiv attempted to launch a massive attack on Moscow and also attacked polling stations in the regions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, APA reports.
He recalled that the negotiations held in Istanbul in 2022 were interrupted by the Ukrainian side.
"But now—or rather, even sometime before the elections, about 10 days, a couple of weeks—it has declared its readiness to resume these negotiations. And indeed, we said that negotiations are unlikely to be possible before the State Duma elections, and after that, we will be ready to resume these contacts. But what happened recently is also well known to everyone. On the night of September 19-20, that is, on the main day of the vote, an attempt was made to launch a massive strike on Moscow. Over 1,600 drones entered the area practically within Moscow. That's the first point. And secondly, strikes were carried out on polling stations. In one place, it was located in a school. The school was practically destroyed by the strike," the head of state said.
