ASAN Service currently provides more than 400 services, Head of the International Relations Department of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan Mahammadali Khudaverdiyev said during a panel session titled “Connecting Africa and Azerbaijan: Investment, Trade and Growth” held as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, APA reports.
He said that Azerbaijan, through the ASAN Service model, became one of the first countries to integrate modern technologies and innovations into the delivery of public services.
Mahammadali Khudaverdiyev noted that the experience of the ASAN model is currently being shared with more than 50 countries around the world.
“Today, more than 600 centers worldwide operate based on ASAN principles and serve more than 800 million people. This is equivalent to approximately 10% of the world’s population,” he emphasized.
The department head also touched upon cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations. He noted that a contribution agreement was signed with the UN in 2024 and a trust fund was established to support the sharing of ASAN’s experience across four continents.
According to him, one of the main objectives of the initiative is to develop the potential for implementing the ASAN Service model in least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island states.
He also said that the UN Governance Innovation Summit will be held in Baku on November 5–6.
The department head noted that the ASAN model serves as an institutional reform tool against corruption and bureaucracy.
