Fariz Yusifov: I was surprised hearing about my appointment to Champions League matches

â€œIt was unexpected for me to hear my appointment to the matches of Champions League. I did not receive any appointment within a half year though I was FIFA judge. I faced problems in receiving Schengen visa required for my attending Intertoto Cup matches. I am pleased to get the appointment to Champions Leagueâ€, 35-year-old Azeri FIFA judge Fariz Yusifov told APA-Sport. Azer Asgarov, Elman Musayev and Babak Guliyev were assistants to Fariz Yusifov in the match â€œRangersâ€ (Andorra) â€“ â€œSheriffâ€ (Moldova), which was debut for Azeri judge.â€ I assumed huge responsibility as it was first match. I was very excited because of making debut. The Maltese judge Viktor Mintoff highly appreciated the match. I needed time to improve my English. I do not have problems with English language and I filled the blank without any problemsâ€.
Fariz Yusifov used yellow card four times, three times to the â€œSheriffâ€ footballers. â€œThe first match between these teams was full of rough treatment. Taking this into consideration I took the control of the match from the first moment. Andorra club demonstrated good performance. â€œSheriffâ€ scored three goals in the counter-attack. â€œSheriffâ€ team met me in a pleasant manner though this club lost two matches judged by me last year in the CIS and Baltic Cupâ€ tournament. â€œSheriffâ€ is to meet Turkish â€œBeshiktashâ€ in the second stage. Fariz Yusifov said he propagated Azerbaijan during his visit.
â€ Andorra has many sightseeing and it is small country located between France and Spain. I propagated Azerbaijan in Andorra. UEFA Swiss representative assisted me in this work. Swiss representative received the appointment for the match in Baku and said pleasant words about Azerbaijan./APA-Sport/
