“There are often surprising results in the football. But taking into account that the first match ended in draw (1:1) we have to agree that Dinamo is a favorite,” Agasalim Mirjavadov, head coach of Khazar-Lankaran f/c representing Azerbaijan in the Champion’s league told a press conference before the response match with Croatia’s Dinamo. Mentioning that halfback Jeyhun Sultanov and forward Vugar Nadirov are injured, Mirjavadov said captain Emin Guliyev who got red card in the first match in Baku will be substituted by Darius Jutautas.
“Emin’s red card frustrated our plans. I am obliged to substitute him by Jutautas,” he said.
Mirjavadov said that they will possibly get license to the second qualifying stage.
“There are no weak rivals in the Champion’s League. We can win the rivals. Azeri clubs won several times,” he said.
Dinamo f/c head coach Branko Ivankovich noted that they have problems with the staff.
“Chorluk, Guel, Shokota and Vrodlyaka will have to miss the match with Khazar-Lankaran. Virginech will be reserve player,” he said.
Ivankovich praised goalkeeper Georg Kokh.
“Kokh is a very qualified goalkeeper. Time will show whether Kokh will be careful till the end and be the main goalkeeper in my team,” he said.
Croatian coach said that his followers do not like to lose in their own land.
“Khazar-Lankaran is a strong team. But I do not think of the rival’s strength but of my team. We do not like to lose the game at home,” he said.
Brankovich did not want to make forecasts and advised to appeal to bookmakers.
