Baku to host friendly match between Azerbaijani and Georgian national teams on September 12

He said that Georgian Football Federation officially agreed to have match.
â€œThe Georgians replied to our proposal at once. We have already received fax on their agreement,â€ he said.
Asgarov stated that match with Georgia will take place in Tofig Bahramov Stadium. AFFA started to search for rivals after UEFAâ€™s decision on not holding match with Armenia in European Championship on September 8 and 12. He stated that they also sent proposal to United Arab Emirates (UAE) on having friendly match on September 12, but they have not yet received reply.
Asgarov stressed that if UAE replies positively, the match is not ruled out to be held on September 8.
Malta also did not comment on AFFAâ€™s proposal on having friendly match on August 22.
Azerbaijani team had first match with Georgia. Our national team defeated 3:6 in the match held in Gurjaani on September 17, 1992. Following this, our footballers had match with Georgians on May 25, 1993 and August 12, 1998 (both matches â€“ 1:0) in Ganja, on June 4, 2000 in Baku (0:0) and Kutaisi on May 9, 2001 (0:1). /APA-Sport/
