FC Baku manager: If we had declined Intertoto Cup, we would have been fined 300,000 Swiss francs

â€œWe intended to decline Intertoto Cup. We changed our mind because of UEFA sanctionâ€, stated FC Baku general manager Zeynal Mammedov, APA-Sport reports.
Mammedov said Baku has to participate in the tournament.
â€œLittle time has left to prepare for Intertoto cup. It negatively affects the preparation for new season. But we have to join the competition if we earned the right. UEFA imposes 300,000 Swiss franc fine on a club which declines Intertoto cup. We prefer to spend the money to our team than to pay fineâ€, he said. /APA-Sport/
